#29 - Is Tech hiring seeing an upward trend? And more updates!
This week’s newsletter captures some interesting & positive insights that signal the return of normalcy in tech hiring and the good times ahead.
Let’s dive in!
Is the tech hiring chaos slowing down?
2023, as you know, has been an absolute disaster of a year for tech companies and their talent.
With over 300k layoffs in the first half of 2023, and low funding/revenue leading to hiring freezes, it looked like all things were doomed!
However, recent reports/trends show a glimmer of hope and signal toward the return of normalcy in tech hiring.
As per this article by Business Insider, the number of layoffs in tech has gone down significantly, and companies that have been laying off talent are slowly opening up their recruitment channels and re-hiring folks they had to let go.
Added to this, India Today also reported that the Indian IT sector saw a slight increase in hiring activity during June 2023. While it isn’t a huge number, an upward trend is a sign of relief!
