IT firms lose their charm amongst freshers and students
Big IT service companies like TCS, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, etc. that were some of the most sought-after mass recruiters for the longest time, seem to be losing their charm amongst students and freshers.
The reason? A volatile market in the United States and the fear of a possible recession have led to the weakening of these companies’ deal pipelines. This uncertainty has forced them to either revoke the offer letters they rolled out or indefinitely delay their joining dates.
Check out this article by Business Today that details the current market sentiment and how people are reciprocating to these uncertain times.
Labour law update: Employers must pay for unused leaves beyond 30 days
The new labour law changes that are due for implementation will introduce a lot of changes for both the employer and the employee.
One such major change coming under the “Occupational safety, health, and working conditions code” states that if an employee’s accumulated paid leaves exceeds 30 days in a calendar year, the employer is entitled to pay them for these extra leaves.
More details about this change have been captured by ETHR in this article.
