“Today’s youth should be ready to work 70 hours a week” says NR Narayan Murthy (Co-founder of Infosys)
Is today’s workforce underworked and aren’t really using their full potential? Infosys’ co-founder sure seems to believe so!
In the inaugural episode of 3one4 capital’s podcast ‘The Record’, NR Narayan Murthy (co-founder of Infosys) shared a very hot take claiming that today’s work culture needs a major revamp and the youth of India should be ready to work 70 hours a week to be able to compete effectively on the global stage.
While this statement has sparked a nation-wide debate with people arguing about the feasibility of this idea and how it’ll take a toll on people’s work-life balance, there are folks who agree with Murthy’s thought of revamping the country’s work culture and believe that we need a more committed and disciplined approach towards work. Read more about it here.

“Today’s leadership is more like rolling up sleeves and working with teams” says Tarun Chugh
In a recent interview talking about running the people show, the importance of a Gen-Z workforce, and how leadership and leaders have been transformed, Tarun Chugh (MD & CEO, Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance) says that the leaders of today are very different from the past.
They have to work within designs and get into the depth of things while at the same time, respect the skills a specialist is getting to the table.
He also goes on to say that leadership in the past has been more commandeering but today, you have to be more empathetic and understanding. You have to be close enough to be objective and not have the emotional aspect.
